Watermelon: Over-the-Top Inches With Estimated Weight Chart
This chart can be used to accurately estimate watermelon weights of growing watermelons without the dangers of field weighing.
Take the same three measurements pumpkin growers use in estimating pumpkin weight and total the three to get a weight estimate.
The measurements are ground to ground over the top of the melon the long way, ground to ground over the top from the side of the melon, and the circumference around the watermelon the long way so the tape goes over the blossom and stem and returns to the blossom with the tape running parallel to the ground.
